Meet Conex Bänninger ‘ambassadors’ at InstallerSHOW - Installer Online

Conex Bänninger will have several ‘brand’ ambassadors in attendance on its stand (5D19) during this year’s InstallerSHOW at the NEC, Birmingham (June 25-27).

One of those high-profile ambassadors will be Paul Clark, who has built-up a reputation as one of the UK’s leading figures on the current plumbing scene and his open and honest posts on Instagram (conceptph1) have given him a platform to promote the industry and good working practices.

He comments: “I will be on-hand for a couple of hours during the opening morning of the event and look forward to meeting people then,” he says. Paul has become well-known as an ‘ambassador’ for a select band of leading manufacturers, the first of which was Conex Bänninger, which produces high-quality fittings, valves and accessories for the plumbing and HVAC industry.

Paul commented: “I am a 3rd generation plumber and proud of it! With my father and grandfather having been in the trade, it’s in my blood. My father was affectionately known as ‘Conex Jack’ as he always used Conex compression and end-feed and I’m glad to carry on that tradition. I believe Conex Bänninger fittings are the best and I’m not just saying that as their ambassador. I will continue to use them – even in the event of no longer being one!”

His approach to the job has seen Paul awarded several accolades including Plumber of the Year in 2019; and Installer’s north-west regional champion in 2021 and in the same year was runner-up in Installer’s national awards, which attracted hundreds of entries.

In this year’s HPM Journals annual awards, Paul was a finalist in three categories –

Underfloor Heating Installer of the Year, Installer of the Year, Bathroom Installer of the Year and Boiler Installer of the year.

“I have been in the industry over 25 years, initially working with my father. My aim – primarily through Instagram – is to bring attention to good plumbing workmanship, good working practices and be known for trying to be a genuine influencer. I’ve currently got 3,000 followers and this number has grown organically.’

Paul has been recently working on a full house refit within a beautiful Victorian property in Oxton on the Wirral, where he has been installing a stainless-steel boiler-room utilising >B< Press Inox fittings from Conex Bänninger.

The primary feeds to the radiators are in stainless steel with zonal controls for the whole of the heating system, as well as multiple zone control for the underfloor heating system. He says: “Copper tends to tarnish quite quickly, whereas stainless steel looks quite ‘industrial’. There are two grade of stainless steel and we’ve upgraded to 316L.
